Codex Alimentarius
Codex Alimentarius is a collection of international food standards, guidelines, and codes of practice developed by the Codex Alimentarius Commission. Established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), its main purpose is to protect consumer health and ensure fair trade practices in food. The standards help countries harmonize their food regulations, making it safer and easier for countries to export and import food products. Essentially, Codex Alimentarius aims to ensure that food is safe, of good quality, and is produced and traded fairly around the world.
