Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy is a treatment for allergies that helps the immune system become less sensitive to specific allergens, such as pollen, dust, or certain foods. In pediatric allergy and immunology, it involves gradually exposing children to small amounts of the allergen, either through shots or under-the-tongue drops. Over time, this helps their bodies build tolerance, reducing allergic reactions and improving their quality of life. Immunotherapy can be especially beneficial for children with severe allergies that affect their daily activities, providing a more long-term solution compared to just managing symptoms with medications.
