Lymphocyte infiltration
Lymphocyte infiltration refers to the movement and accumulation of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, in tissues, particularly during inflammation or immune responses. Lymphocytes play a key role in fighting infections and diseases, including cancer. When an infection or injury occurs, lymphocytes migrate to the affected area to help combat the problem. This infiltration can be a sign of the body's immune response but may also indicate underlying health issues, such as autoimmune diseases or chronic inflammation. Observing lymphocyte infiltration in tissue samples can aid in diagnosing various medical conditions.
