CAR-T cells
CAR-T cells, short for Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cells, are a type of immunotherapy used to treat certain cancers. In this process, doctors collect a patient's immune cells (T cells) and genetically modify them in a lab to recognize and attack cancer cells. These engineered T cells are then reintroduced into the patient's body, where they can more effectively identify and destroy cancer cells. CAR-T therapy has shown remarkable results, particularly in blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, offering hope for patients with limited treatment options.
