Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is a type of skin cancer that arises from squamous cells, which are flat cells found in the outer layer of the skin. It often appears as a red, scaly patch, sore that won’t heal, or a firm bump. SCC is usually caused by excessive sun exposure and is more common in fair-skinned individuals. While it can be aggressive and spread if untreated, it is highly treatable, especially when caught early. Regular skin checks and sun protection are important for prevention.
