Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, specifically targeting a certain kind of white blood cell called lymphocytes. In CLL, these lymphocytes grow uncontrollably and accumulate, leading to a weakened immune system and reduced capability to fight infections. Symptoms can include fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, and easy bruising. CLL usually progresses slowly and may not require immediate treatment. The exact cause is unknown, but it tends to occur more frequently in older adults and can be managed with various therapies when necessary.
