Rituximab
Rituximab is a medication used to treat certain cancers and autoimmune diseases. It works by targeting and destroying specific immune cells known as B cells, which can become problematic in conditions like non-Hodgkin lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis. By selectively eliminating these cells, rituximab helps reduce the disease's activity and improve the patient’s overall health. It’s typically given through an intravenous infusion in a clinical setting and may be part of a broader treatment plan that includes other therapies. Patients receive close monitoring for side effects during and after treatment.
