FCR regimen (Fludarabine, Cyclophosphamide, Rituximab)
The FCR regimen is a combination treatment for certain types of blood cancers, particularly chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). It includes three medications: Fludarabine, which is a chemotherapy drug that targets cancer cells; Cyclophosphamide, another chemotherapy that helps stop the growth of these cells; and Rituximab, a targeted therapy that specifically attacks a protein on the surface of B-cells (a type of white blood cell). Together, these drugs work to reduce the number of cancer cells in the body, aiming to improve treatment outcomes and potentially lead to remission.
