CHOP regimen
The CHOP regimen is a standard treatment for certain types of lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. CHOP stands for four medications: Cyclophosphamide, Hydroxydaunorubicin (also known as Doxorubicin), Oncovin (Vincristine), and Prednisone. These drugs work together to kill cancer cells and reduce tumor size. The regimen is typically administered in cycles over several months, allowing the body time to recover between treatments. While effective, the drugs can cause side effects, so patients are closely monitored during their treatment. Overall, CHOP is a key approach in managing lymphoma.
