Rai Staging System
The Rai Staging System is used to classify how advanced chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is in a patient. It helps doctors determine the severity of the disease and decide on a treatment plan. The system has five stages, from Rai 0, where there are few symptoms and a normal blood count, to Rai IV, where the disease is more severe with significant anemia or low platelet counts. By understanding the patient's stage, healthcare professionals can better tailor their approach for optimal care and management of the disease.
