SCLC (Small Cell Lung Cancer)
Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) is a type of lung cancer characterized by small, round cells that grow quickly and often spread rapidly to other parts of the body. It is strongly linked to smoking but can also occur in non-smokers. SCLC is typically diagnosed at an advanced stage due to its aggressive nature. Treatment usually involves a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as surgery is often not viable. Early detection and treatment are crucial for improving outcomes, but unfortunately, SCLC tends to have a poorer prognosis compared to other lung cancer types.
