Rhinitis
Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal lining, often triggered by allergens like pollen, dust mites, or pet dander. When these substances enter the nose, the immune system reacts, releasing chemicals like histamine. This leads to symptoms such as sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, and itching. There are two main types: allergic rhinitis, caused by allergens, and non-allergic rhinitis, which can be triggered by factors like pollution or strong odors. Effective management includes avoiding triggers, using medications like antihistamines, or undergoing immunotherapy to help reduce sensitivity to allergens.
