CERN
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world’s largest and most respected scientific research centers. Located near Geneva, Switzerland, it focuses on particle physics, studying the fundamental building blocks of matter and the forces that govern them. CERN operates the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world's most powerful particle accelerator, which smashes particles together at high speeds to uncover insights about the universe, including the Higgs boson discovery in 2012. Through its research, CERN contributes greatly to our understanding of the universe’s origins and the fundamental laws of physics.
