Baryons

Baryons are a type of subatomic particle that are composed of three elementary particles called quarks. They are one of the building blocks of matter, forming protons and neutrons, which make up atomic nuclei. Baryons belong to a family of particles called hadrons, which interact via the strong nuclear force. Their stability and interactions play a crucial role in the composition of ordinary matter in the universe. In essence, if protons and neutrons are the bricks of an atomic structure, baryons are the fundamental unit that holds those bricks together.
