Heavy baryons

Heavy baryons are particles made up of three quarks, with at least one being a heavy quark like charm or bottom (beauty). Quarks are fundamental building blocks of matter, similar to how atoms are made of protons and neutrons. Heavy baryons are unstable and exist briefly in high-energy environments, like inside particle accelerators. They help scientists study the strong force—fundamental interactions that hold atomic nuclei together—and the behavior of quarks under extreme conditions. Their unique properties provide insights into the fundamental laws governing particles and the universe.
