Baryon number is a property used in physics to track certain particles, mainly protons and neutrons (called baryons). Each baryon has a baryon number of +1, and their antimatter counterparts, antibaryons, have a baryon number of -1. Other particles like electrons have a baryon number of zero. The total baryon number in an isolated system remains constant, meaning it’s conserved during all known physical processes.
