Lambda baryon

A Lambda baryon is a type of subatomic particle made up of three quarks, specifically one strange quark and two lighter quarks (such as up and down). It is classified as a baryon, which are particles that compose protons and neutrons—the building blocks of atomic nuclei. Lambda baryons are unstable and decay quickly into other particles. They are studied in high-energy physics to understand fundamental forces and the behavior of quarks. Their existence helps scientists explore the strong interaction, one of the four fundamental forces governing matter at the smallest scales.
