The Higgs Boson

The Higgs boson is a fundamental particle in physics, discovered in 2012 at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. It is associated with the Higgs field, which permeates the universe and gives mass to other particles through their interactions with it. Think of the Higgs field as a kind of "cosmic molasses": particles moving through it experience resistance, which effectively gives them mass.
