T2K

T2K, or Tokai to Kamioka, is a significant scientific experiment in particle physics located in Japan. It focuses on studying neutrinos, which are nearly massless particles that rarely interact with matter. In T2K, neutrinos are produced at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC) in Tokai and sent over 295 kilometers to the Super-Kamiokande detector in Kamioka. Scientists aim to understand the properties of neutrinos, including their ability to change types, a phenomenon known as neutrino oscillation. This research helps deepen our understanding of the universe and the fundamental forces governing it.
