Superstring theory

Superstring theory is a theoretical framework in physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity, two fundamental but contradictory theories. It proposes that the basic building blocks of the universe are not point-like particles, but tiny, vibrating strings. These strings can oscillate in different ways, with each vibration corresponding to a different particle, such as electrons or quarks. Superstring theory suggests there are extra dimensions beyond the familiar three of space and one of time, helping to explain phenomena like gravity and the fundamental forces in a unified way, making it a leading candidate for a "theory of everything."
