Axions

Axions are hypothetical elementary particles proposed as a solution to certain problems in theoretical physics, particularly in explaining why some particles, like protons, have very specific properties. They are thought to be very light and interact very weakly with matter, making them difficult to detect. Axions also play a role in connecting to dark matter, an unknown substance that makes up much of the universe's mass. If discovered, axions could provide insights into fundamental forces and the composition of the universe, contributing to our understanding of both particle physics and cosmology.
