antimatter research
Antimatter research involves studying particles that are the opposite of the ordinary matter that makes up everything we see. Each particle has a corresponding antiparticle with the same mass but opposite charge. When matter and antimatter collide, they annihilate each other, releasing a tremendous amount of energy, which has potential applications in energy production and advanced propulsion systems for space travel. Researchers create antimatter in particle accelerators and study its properties to better understand fundamental physics, including the imbalance between matter and antimatter in the universe.
