Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants, algae, and some bacteria convert sunlight into energy. Using chlorophyll in their leaves, they absorb sunlight and combine it with carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil. This reaction produces glucose, a sugar that serves as energy for growth and development, and oxygen, which is released into the atmosphere. Essentially, photosynthesis is vital for life on Earth, as it not only provides food for plants but also generates the oxygen that animals and humans need to breathe.
