Aurangzeb

Aurangzeb was a Mughal emperor who reigned from 1658 to 1707 in India. He was known for expanding the empire to its greatest territorial extent. A devout Muslim, Aurangzeb implemented Islamic laws and policies that sometimes alienated non-Muslims. His reign saw significant architectural achievements, including the construction of new mosques. However, his strict religious policies and military campaigns against rival states contributed to dissent and instability. After his death, the Mughal Empire began to decline, paving the way for colonial interventions and eventual British rule in India.
