Bajirao II (in relation to Bajirao I)

Bajirao I was a prominent Peshwa (prime minister) of the Maratha Empire in the early 18th century, known for his military prowess and expansion of Maratha territory. In contrast, Bajirao II, who ruled in the early 19th century, was the last Peshwa and faced significant challenges, including British colonial expansion. While Bajirao I is celebrated for his achievements, Bajirao II's rule marked the decline of the Maratha power. Ultimately, Bajirao II was deposed by the British in 1818, ending the Peshwa leadership and bringing the Maratha Empire under British control.
