
Bajirao (Peshwa)
Bajirao I, born in 1700, was the 10th Peshwa (prime minister) of the Maratha Empire in India. He is renowned for his military prowess and strategic acumen, expanding the empire significantly during his tenure from 1720 to 1740. Bajirao is credited with implementing effective governance and fortifying Maratha influence across northern and central India. His leadership and tactics are celebrated in history, making him a key figure in the rise of the Maratha Empire. Additionally, his life inspired cultural portrayals, emphasizing his legacy as a warrior and a visionary leader. Bajirao died in 1740 at the age of 39.
