Sambhaji Maharaj

Sambhaji Maharaj was the second ruler of the Maratha Empire in India, succeeding his father, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, in 1681. Born in 1657, he was a skilled warrior and ruler, known for his efforts to expand and consolidate the empire. His reign faced challenges, including conflicts with the Mughal Empire, particularly under Aurangzeb. Sambhaji was eventually captured and executed in 1689, becoming a symbol of resistance against Mughal domination.
