Trappist beer
Trappist beer is a special type of beer brewed by Trappist monks in specific monasteries, primarily in Belgium, but also in the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, and the U.S. To be labeled as Trappist, the beer must be brewed within a monastery, and the proceeds should support the monastery and charitable causes. Trappist beers are known for their rich flavors and variety, often including ales that range from light to dark and can have fruity, spicy, or malty notes. There are currently only 14 recognized Trappist breweries worldwide, making these beers unique and highly regarded among beer enthusiasts.
