Scottish Parliament

The Scottish Parliament is the national legislative body of Scotland, responsible for making laws and decisions on a range of issues including education, health, and justice. Located in Edinburgh, it was established in 1999 following a referendum that endorsed devolved powers, allowing Scotland to govern itself in certain areas while remaining part of the United Kingdom. The Parliament consists of 129 Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs), who are elected by Scottish voters every five years. It plays a crucial role in representing the interests of the people of Scotland and facilitating local governance.
