League of Nations
The League of Nations was an international organization founded after World War I in 1920, aiming to promote peace and cooperation among countries. Its main goals were to prevent conflicts through diplomacy, disarmament, and collective security, ensuring that nations would work together to resolve disputes without resorting to war. Although it achieved some successes, such as humanitarian efforts and conflict resolution, the League ultimately struggled with enforcement and the absence of major powers like the United States. It was dissolved in 1946 and succeeded by the United Nations, which aimed to address its shortcomings and continue the pursuit of global peace.
