League of Nations Mandate
The League of Nations Mandate was a system established after World War I to manage territories that were taken from countries defeated in the war, mainly Germany and the Ottoman Empire. The League granted these territories to victorious countries, which were responsible for their administration and development until they could govern themselves. This was intended to ensure peace and prepare these regions for independence, while promoting welfare and stability. Though the League aimed to prevent future conflicts, it ultimately struggled to fulfill its goals, and many mandates became contentious, contributing to future geopolitical tensions.
