League of Nations Council

The League of Nations Council was the executive body of the League of Nations, established after World War I to promote peace and prevent future conflicts. It consisted of a small group of major Allied powers and later, other member states, meeting regularly to address urgent international issues. The Council could make decisions binding on member countries and was responsible for resolving disputes, imposing sanctions, or taking collective action. Its goal was to facilitate diplomacy and cooperation among nations, but it often struggled with enforceability and lacked the authority to prevent conflicts effectively, which contributed to its eventual decline.
