Covenant of the League of Nations

The Covenant of the League of Nations was a founding document established in 1920, after World War I, to promote peace and cooperation among countries. It aimed to prevent wars through collective security and diplomacy, encouraging member nations to resolve disputes peacefully. The Covenant included commitments to respect international agreements and protect small nations' interests. Although it represented a hopeful step towards global governance, the League struggled to enforce its decisions and ultimately failed to prevent World War II, leading to its dissolution and the creation of the United Nations in 1945.
