League of Nations Formation

The League of Nations was formed after World War I to promote peace and prevent future conflicts. Established in 1920, it aimed to foster cooperation among countries, resolve disputes through dialogue, and impose collective security measures against aggression. The League emerged from the Treaty of Versailles, designed to address the failures that led to the war. Although it was a revolutionary idea for international relations, the League struggled with enforcement and the absence of major powers like the United States. Ultimately, these challenges hindered its effectiveness, leading to its replacement by the United Nations after World War II.
