Sikh Empire
The Sikh Empire was a historical state in South Asia, primarily in what is now Punjab, India, and parts of Pakistan, established in the early 19th century by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Emerging after the decline of the Mughal Empire, it united various Sikh factions and expanded through military conquests. Ranjit Singh is renowned for his secular leadership and modernizing efforts in administration and military. The empire flourished until the British annexed it in the mid-19th century. The legacy of the Sikh Empire is significant in Sikh history and its cultural impact in the region continues to be felt today.
