Ahmad Shah Durrani, also known as Ahmad Shah Abdali, was an influential leader in the mid-18th century and the founder of modern Afghanistan. Born in 1722, he united several tribes and established the Durrani Empire in 1747 after a successful campaign against foreign powers.
