Hotaki dynasty

The Hotaki dynasty was a short-lived, early 18th-century ruling family in Afghanistan, founded by the Afghan leader Mirwais Hotak. This dynasty emerged after the decline of the Safavid Empire in Persia and is known for its resistance against Persian control. The dynasty governed regions of Afghanistan and parts of Persia from 1709 to 1738, with notable leaders like Mahmud Hotak, who expanded its territory. However, the Hotaki dynasty eventually fell to the Afghan leader Ahmad Shah Durrani, marking the end of their rule and the beginning of a new era in Afghanistan's history.
