Mirwais Hotak

Mirwais Hotak was an influential Afghan leader and founder of the Hotak dynasty in early 18th-century Afghanistan. Rising to prominence as a tribal leader, he challenged Persian and Mughal control, leading a revolt in 1720 that resulted in the weakening of Persian influence in the region. Mirwais sought to unify Afghan tribes and establish independence, resisting outside domination. His leadership laid the groundwork for Afghanistan’s future sovereignty.
