Rani Jindan Kaur
Rani Jindan Kaur was the last queen of the Sikh Empire and the wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who united various Sikh factions in the early 19th century. Following her husband’s death in 1839, she became the regent for her young son, Maharaja Dalip Singh. Jindan Kaur played a significant role during a turbulent period characterized by British expansion in India. Known for her resilience and political acumen, she opposed British authority. After the annexation of Punjab in 1849, she faced exile but remained a symbol of resistance against colonial rule and a significant figure in Sikh history.
