Last Mughal Emperor

The last Mughal Emperor was Bahadur Shah II, also known as Bahadur Shah Zafar. He ruled from 1837 to 1857, during a time when the British were expanding their control over India. His reign marked the decline of the Mughal Empire, which had once been powerful. In 1857, he became a symbolic leader in the Indian Rebellion against British rule. After the uprising was suppressed, he was captured, tried, and exiled to Rangoon, Burma (now Myanmar). His removal effectively ended the Mughal dynasty and marked the beginning of direct British governance in India.
