Sikh History
Sikh history begins in the late 15th century in Punjab, India, with Guru Nanak, who founded Sikhism, emphasizing equality, honesty, and devotion to God. Over 10 Gurus, the faith grew, advocating justice and community service. The tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, founded the Khalsa brotherhood in 1699, promoting discipline and faith. Sikhs faced persecution, notably under Mughal rule. Throughout history, they maintained their identity and values, contributing to Indian society and beyond. Today, Sikhs worldwide celebrate their heritage, focusing on peace, service, and spiritual growth.
