Guru Nanak

Guru Nanak (1469-1539) was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus. Born in Punjab, India, he emphasized the belief in one God, equality among all people, and living a truthful and honest life. His teachings promote compassion, community service, and rejecting rituals and caste discrimination. Guru Nanak’s teachings were compiled in the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. He traveled extensively to inspire others, spreading messages of peace and harmony. His legacy continues to shape Sikh values and practices today.
