2nd Anglo-Sikh War
The Second Anglo-Sikh War (1848-1849) was a conflict between the British East India Company and the Sikh Empire in India. It arose from tensions after the first war and British interference in Sikh affairs. The war began with a series of battles, leading to the defeat of the Sikh forces. By the end of the conflict, the British annexed the Punjab region, bringing it under direct control. This war marked the decline of the Sikh Empire and solidified British power in India, setting the stage for further colonial expansion in the region.
