Pashtunistan

Pashtunistan refers to a region inhabited primarily by the Pashtun people, an ethnic group spread mainly across Afghanistan and Pakistan. The term is often used to describe aspirations for a separate Pashtun state that would unite all Pashtun territories, which are currently divided by the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. This idea is rooted in historical, cultural, and linguistic ties among Pashtuns. While Pashtunistan has significant cultural importance, political movements advocating for it have faced challenges, given the complex dynamics of national borders and the interests of the governments in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
