Bacha-i-Saqao (Bacha Saqao)

Bacha-i-Saqao, meaning "King of the Water Carrier," was the nickname of Habibullah Kalakani, who briefly seized power in Afghanistan during a tumultuous period in the early 1920s. Originally a water carrier, he led a rebellion against the ruling monarchy after the king was deposed. His rule lasted only about 10 months before he was overthrown by a British-supported government. Bacha-i-Saqao is often remembered as a symbol of popular uprising and the complexities of Afghan politics during a time when the country faced significant internal and external challenges.
