Afghanistan National Army

The Afghanistan National Army (ANA) was the military force established to defend Afghanistan and support the government, particularly after the fall of the Taliban in 2001. Formed with international assistance, primarily from the United States and NATO, it aimed to maintain security and stability in the country. The ANA engaged in combat against insurgent groups, including the Taliban, and participated in various security operations. However, its effectiveness varied, and in August 2021, the ANA rapidly collapsed as the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, leading to the disbandment of the force and significant political and humanitarian implications.
