Bacha-i-Saqao Revolt

The Bacha-i-Saqao Revolt was an uprising in Afghanistan during the early 1930s, led by a young boy named Bacha-i-Saqao, meaning "Son of the Water Carrier." He challenged the rule of King Mohammed Nadir Shah, asserting local authority and advocating for traditional rights. The revolt reflected regional dissatisfaction with centralized royal authority and economic hardships. Although it was eventually suppressed, it highlighted underlying tensions between central power and local communities in Afghanistan’s complex tribal society.
