Khilji dynasty
The Khilji dynasty was a Muslim dynasty that ruled parts of India from 1290 to 1320. Founded by Jalaluddin Khilji, it is best known for expanding its territory and implementing significant economic and military reforms. Alauddin Khilji, the most notable ruler, sought to strengthen the state by controlling prices, enhancing tax collection, and creating a standing army. The dynasty is remembered for its resistance against Mongol invasions and its impact on the Delhi Sultanate's culture and governance. Ultimately, internal strife and external pressures led to its decline and the rise of the Tughlaq dynasty.
