Line of Control

The Line of Control (LoC) is a military boundary that separates Indian-administered territory from Pakistan-administered territory in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. Established after the 1947-1948 Indo-Pakistani War, it serves as a de facto border, though both countries claim the entire region. The LoC is heavily monitored and patrolled, with frequent military presence on both sides. It has been the site of ongoing conflict and skirmishes, reflecting the larger dispute between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, which remains unresolved.
