Azad Kashmir

Azad Kashmir, officially known as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), is a self-governing administrative region administered by Pakistan. It was established after the first Indo-Pakistani war in 1947-48, which followed the partition of British India. Azad Kashmir has its own government and legislature, operating under a special status, distinct from the rest of Pakistan. The region is part of the larger disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir, claimed by both India and Pakistan, and remains a focal point of tension between the two nations. Its landscape is characterized by beautiful mountains and valleys, attracting tourists.
